Voluntary Financial Contributions

Lake Tuggeranong offers a diverse and modern curriculum to its students. To buy resources which enhance the teaching-learning environment for all students across the College, the Board requests parents to pay a voluntary College contribution.

The Voluntary Parental Contribution was $180 in 2007 and is expected to remain at around this level for 2008. Discounts are available for early payment, for two years’ payment in advance and for more than one child at the College.

Although all contributions are voluntary in accordance with Government policy, it is vital that parents support the College through payment of this money as it provides a major part of the budget figure allocated to resourcing the education program. The Education Act 2004 states that your child will not be refused benefits or services if you do not choose to contribute. Individual records of contributions are confidential.
In addition to this contribution, costs for materials/ activities exist in some courses. These courses are usually those which use a lot of expensive consumables or use equipment which is expensive to maintain and replace.

A full list of all course costs is provided at the time of students being offered a place at the College. These lists are always available from the College front office. There are many alternative courses where there are no consumable costs paid.

Upon enrolment a materials and resources charge of $80 is requested when you secure your place at College. This amount covers the cost of a copy of the College Handbook, initial internet usage, photographic ID and use of Library held resources such as some texts, cameras and tape recorders.
