Australian School Based Apprenticeships (ASBAs)
An Australian School-based Apprenticeship involves the employment of a young person who is undertaking a traineeship part-time while still attending school or College and enrolled in a program leading to a senior secondary certificate. This program provides students with an excellent opportunity to try an occupation that may be of interest to them. The range of industry areas that offer ASBA traineeships is extensive.
If you are interested in undertaking an Australian School Based Apprenticeship (ASBA), see Rosemary Hackman or Letitia Edwards to discuss the possibility of commencing a traineeship. You do not need to have an employer identified. We can assist you to find a suitable employer. You will receive credit towards your Year 12 Certificate for both the on-the-job and the off-the-job training.
If you commenced an ASBA in high school, see Rosemary Hackman to assist you to manage your College commitments along with your ASBA program.

Further information on each of these courses and programs can be found in the details section for the relevant faculty on the web site: www.ltc.act.edu.au under the heading of curriculum.
