Students' Representative Council
As one of the College’s most popular R-units, the SRC consistently brings together energetic people who are interested in issues affecting the school, the ACT and the country. To join Lake Tuggeranong College’s SRC you must be prepared to laugh, discuss, motivate, socialise, imagine, involve, organise and above all, have fun!
Student representatives are involved in improvements and changes to the College, the school board, student socialising and entertainment, and College, local and national events. Through responsibility and initiative, students gain experience in areas such as communication, publicity, organisation and the media.
The SRC provides fun and useful services to the student body, and helps fundraise for charities and school projects. College dance parties, day trips and social gatherings are more light-hearted activities, while communication, input and forums with ACT decision-making associations such as the Department of Education are also available.
The SRC is a great way for students to learn leadership and organisational skills, enjoy new experiences and be an involved person while having fun with others. Meetings are generally once a week during lunchtime, and no previous experience in a student council is necessary. Consider joining the SRC - it is a decision worth making.
Welcome from the SRC
We work to make our college a friendly place!
The Student Representative Council welcomes all new Year 11 students and other new students to the college. The SRC members work hard at making the college as friendly a place as possible for all students.
To start the year students can look forward to a sausage sizzle for the Year 11 students on their first day at college. All food and drinks will be free and catered for SRC members.
A bit later students can anticipate Valentine’s Day roses being sold and delivered to students in classes, sausage sizzles, year assemblies and other fun events that will be held as the term and year progresses.
SRC meetings are held every Monday lunch at 12:45pm in Room 1127. All new members are most welcome. Remember, the SRC can only keep on providing services to students with your help.
We look forward to meeting you all in SRC.
